Archdiocese offers information on euthanasia’s implications

ON Wednesday, May 17, the Health Minister Jill Hennessy released an interim report on voluntary Euthanasia. This report has the potential to see physician assisted suicide become legal in Victoria.

A bill could go before parliament by the end of the year and if it is passed it is expected to be introduced 18 months later. The bill will go to a conscience vote.

An information session is being held by the Archdiocese to inform parishioners of the implications of this legislation.

The evening will include presentations from leaders in ethics, political strategy, health and palliative care and will provide an overview of the most up-to-date information and how we propose to respond to this challenge.

More information can be found at the Archdiocese, Life, Marriage and Family website.
