Lenten Activities

Lenten Reflection Program

TO prepare for the joy of Easter a Lenten Reflection Program will be held each Tuesday (February 20, 27, March 6, 13 & 20) during Lent commencing at 7pm.

The format will be: 7pm Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with silent prayer; 7.30pm Gospel reading with reflection, evening prayer, Benediction and conclusion by around 8pm.

PROJECT COMPASSION boxes and envelopes are available in the narthex.

Choose your preferred method of giving for this Lent. Project Compassion is a traditional way of giving during lent and a way of helping those in need  and work to make “poverty history”.

DAYS OF FASTING AND REPARATION:

Last November, the Australian Bishops Conference agreed that from Ash Wednesday February 14 until Saturday February 17 be days of fasting and reparation in sorrow for child sexual abuse and for the healing of victims.

We undertake these days of reparation in recognition that the Lord is able to hold in love all who have been affected by abuse, and that the care of the Catholic tradition is one of hope: that good always triumphs over evil and that God is close to those who suffer.

To mark this day, a Prayer Service with Communion will be held Friday, February 16 at 8.30am. Prayer resources can also be accessed from the Archdiocese website: www.cam.org.au/evangelisation
