THE stonework on the sanctuary is almost completed and the lighting that will reflect from the floor is still not completed.

The remainder of the lighting is complete and the overall result is good. The concept for the lighting was that it would wash evenly and strongly across the canopy of the ceiling but the placement of architectural beams made this too expensive.

I (Fr Dennis) believe that the technology is available but it would have reached beyond our budget. My apologies for not being able to realise the best result.

The painting is almost complete and the bench tops are ready to be changed. The carpet is delayed by a week.

On a positive note, I drove to the small outer suburb of Officer to inspect progress on the ambo (pulpit), baptistry and crucifix. Also, the backing for the statue of Our Lady. These are all developing well and will be ready for installation by the end of the first week of November.

In summary, it is the carpet that is holding up work and delaying the use of the church in early November. Please be patient because I still believe that we will have a good result, albeit one that is compromised by our budget.

A major donor is needed to contribute towards the completion of the ambo, the lectern for the proclamation of the Word of God. $1000 has been contributed but another donor would be welcome.
