THE projector has been installed. It sits at the back of the Church in the elevated section – out of direct view, operated remotely.
The projection quality is good but we need seriously capable people to know how to operate it from the laptop computer.
Also, we will need people who know how to create the liturgical presentations using PowerPoint. I anticipate a period of learning in this area and even a delay in operating the equipment until volunteers, with skill, come forward.
The pews are all being sanded and varnished. The result is a good one but some of the pews are worn and they only present a mediocre finish.
The Stations of the Cross are being installed this week. They will follow the wall from the chapel of the tabernacle to the rear windows and stop short of the organ. This is because we do not want to clutter the statue of Our Lady.
The ambo, baptistry and crucifix, and the Lady statue will be installed November 7, The carpet will be laid on the November 4.
The work is coming to completion and, at the last Pastoral Parish Council meeting we thought that it would be desirable to have a blessing and opening function at the end of November.
However, since the annual Thank-you function to volunteer parishioners is also in December, we will combine the two functions for Sunday November 29.
Beginning with the 10am Mass and progress to the hall for a party celebration. Bishop Terry Curtin will be the principal celebrant. As Bishop Mark Edwards has other commitments that day, he will celebrate Mass on December 6 at 10am.
