IT seems that the weeks are passing quickly already. It was pleasing to see the start of School with 12 new Preps. Michelle Verna has done a wonderful ministry in the School.
The Sunday night Youth Mass is back and running. As always we are grateful to the Worsnop family for the music and to Robert Stewart for his work in organising the Mass.
The Jesuits have had a strong association with this Mass and I did try and get Jesuit Father John Martis this week but he was otherwise engaged with his community.
Lent and Easter are looming and we are grateful to Lauren Sanders, Ric Canale, Edgar D’Souza, Susie Hii and Rebecca Fels for attending the Archdiocesan planning workshop. They all reported very favourably on the experience and I am sure that it will inform the planning of the liturgy committee.
The horrors of the Royal Commission’s final ‘wrap-up’ is ongoing and what a horrendous and shameful picture continues to emerge. As a Church, we must change or, as a well known commentator remarked: risk becoming a derided sect in contemporary Australian society.
