Never use old solutions to solve new problems. This is so true for youth ministry. There was a time when contemporary music, Antioch and, before that YCW, made inroads for the faith development of young people. In my view, those days are gone.<\/p>\n<p>I would like the PPC to think ahead. Perhaps it is the more contemplative and mystical resources of the Church that can enrich our ministry to young people. I am not sure.<\/p>\n<p>But, if this is the case, then we should be thinking of celebrations that are meditative and reflective. When I was in Adelaide, for a short supply as parish priest of Henley Beach, we introduced a contemplative Mass at night with Taize (monastic) chants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I THINK is a good guide to living in today&#8217;s Church.
