A GOOD number of parishioners filled the Church last Sunday, Nov 29, for the blessing of the renovations by Bishop Terry Curtin.<\/p>\n
Clearly, people were pleased that they could move back into their Church. They also had the opportunity to catch up with Bishop Curtin and share a lunch with each other.<\/p>\n
In my short message, I was able to thank those who contributed to the day: those who helped with the liturgy; the great food and wine that was provided and to you, the Greythorn community, for your support of one another and the Church. It was truly remarkable that over $100,000 has so far been contributed to the Refurbishment Foundation, which is ongoing.<\/p>\n
It was good to have Anthony Russo, the artist from Orchard Designs, present for the Mass and lunch. He was able to answer the questions of a number of parishioners. While I realise that not all parishioners are happy with every aspect of the re-design, I do hope that it will become a more familiar part of our celebrations and liturgies, especially at Christmas.<\/p>\n
One gentleman from the parish asked me, now the refurbishment is almost complete, what I will be doing? Well, I said, apart from working on visitation, I want the PPC to focus on youth. We have many young people and young adults who are not always at weekly Mass but are looking for spirituality and a space in their lives for the sacred.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
