{"id":2616,"date":"2017-02-19T14:39:24","date_gmt":"2017-02-19T03:39:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kmgit.com\/testbuzz\/?p=2616"},"modified":"2017-02-19T14:40:25","modified_gmt":"2017-02-19T03:40:25","slug":"desire-to-change-is-enough","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kmgit.com\/testbuzz\/desire-to-change-is-enough\/","title":{"rendered":"Desire To Change Is Enough"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OF all the many reflections on <em>Amoris Laetitia<\/em> (The Joy of Love), and the disagreements on divorced and remarried Catholics, this latest comment from a senior Cardinal makes a great deal of sense.<\/p>\n<p>Catholics who find themselves in what the Church considers &#8216;non legitimate&#8217; situations can receive Holy Communion as long as they want to change their situation, according to the chief Vatican legal text interpreter.<\/p>\n<p>According to Italian<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2612\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2612\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kmgit.com\/testbuzz\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cardinal-Cocco.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2612\" src=\"http:\/\/kmgit.com\/testbuzz\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cardinal-Cocco-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio,\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/kmgit.com\/testbuzz\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cardinal-Cocco-200x300.jpg 200w, http:\/\/kmgit.com\/testbuzz\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cardinal-Cocco.jpg 367w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2612\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>President of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts. Cardinal Coccopalmerio says he wrote his new book <em>The Eighth Chapter of the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia<\/em> not as a canon law expert but to try to &#8220;unpack [Amoris&#8217;s] rich doctrinal and pastoral message&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>He added that he wrote it because &#8220;this part of the document is not very ample and, perhaps because of the content and the form, this chapter has been judged either with negativity or with a certain reserve.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Church could admit to the Penitence and Eucharist the faithful who find themselves in illegitimate unions who want to change that situation, but can&#8217;t act on their desire,&#8221; Cardinal Coccopalmerio writes.<\/p>\n<p>He also writes, &#8220;I believe that we can sustain, with sure and tranquil conscience, that the doctrine, in this case, is respected.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Church&#8217;s teaching on marriage is clear: one man, one woman, united in an indissoluble bond, meaning, in sickness and health, poverty and wealth, &#8217;till death, and open to life.<\/p>\n<p>Quoting from <em>Amoris<\/em> <em>Laetitia<\/em>, Cardinal Coccopalmerio says that the exhortation is very clear on all the elements of the Church&#8217;s doctrine on marriage, aligned and faithful to traditional teaching.
